Top Tory facing fury over asylum seeker 'chaos' they say has 'spiralled out of control'



There was fury in Tory ranks last night after Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick blamed the Home Office for housing asylum seekers in stately homes and luxury barn conversions Mr Jenrick claimed he inherited a "completely unacceptable" situation when he was appointed as a Home Office minister at the end of October, and said he had ordered officials to stop placing asylum seekers in upmarket accommodation at taxpayers' expense.
