New diabetes patient every 3 minutes: NHS puts tens of thousands on a diet to halt disease



ONE person is diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes every three minutes in England and Wales, shocking figures reveal today. More than 200,000 people discovered they were suffering from the debilitating condition in 2017, according to analysis by Diabetes UK. The statistics demonstrate the "frightening speed" at which the number of people with the disease is rising - fuelled by the UK's obesity crisis, the charity claimed.
